Tell about yourself - your personality, lifestyle, etc.
First I must admit it's somewhat hard for me to talk about myself on such a site, because I'm not good at talking about any of my good traits too much. I feel like I'm boasting. I'll try it here, but no worries - once you get to know me you'll find I'm not such a braggart.
I consider myself to be a sweet person. Sure, I'm sometimes irritable and quick-tempered, but I love doing things for others and if I can make a loved one (or not so loved one) happy, it makes my day too.
I try to be understanding about things and want to know the reasons why people act a certain way. I'm a sensitive person and may feel hurt at times, but I'm willing to listen and forgive, especially if the one in question is someone close to me (but in other situations too).
I don't trust people easily but when I do I act quite emotional. However, I can control myself if a situation calls for it.
I also like to be affectionate and passionate.
If I'm into something, no matter what that thing is, I do my best. Well, actually close to it. I always think I could have done better. Though if I leave a hobby behind, it usually stays there. That's different with people though, if I care about someone I'll still care about them even if we don't meet in years. But it's got to have been a strong relationship for that.
I don't consider myself a lot more intelligent than others, because I have met some very talented, smart people. However I do know about what I'm interested in and I tend to think deeply about what I consider important. I hate superficiality and if I'm interested in something I try to have as deep an understanding of it as possible and then act accordingly to that understanding.
I appreciate humor a lot. I consider myself funny, but it may be because I have my own sense of humor :))
I enjoy writing poetry and reading literature, listening to music and singing. I also like psychology, and as such I have an interest for sociology and philosophy too, though only the first is really important to me. I enjoy taking walks and swimming, though I do wish I had more time for such things and that the weather in winter was a little more favorable :) I tend to spend more time on the computer than I'd like, because I'm shy and most of my friends are overseas. I do think that if I were reunited with them I'd spend considerable less time on here, since I sometimes even get bored.
What kind of person are you interested in meeting?
I am looking for someone who is in the first place kind-hearted, sweet though not necessarily always, and who cares about the happiness and well-being of others. I would rather he be older and taller than me. Please don't mind the distance limit - I just had no option for everywhere.
I would also like him to be reasonably intelligent, though I don't request a genius. These tend to be crazy anyway :) He would be able both to be funny and to stay serious and focused when the situation requires it. I would rather he be atheistic/agnostic and vegetarian. He may be one who does eat eggs but no meat. I would also like someone who is honest but not rude, reserved but not arrogant. It would be nice if he were affectionate to me but he doesn't have to.
One very important thing is that he has to be a great friend. Not necessarily consider himself so - in fact I prefer modest people (though knowing your worth is always good). I can understand a busy schedule or a time of illness, but I would like him to keep regular contact and still be a good friend, because a relationship in which the partners are not also friends is meaningless in my eyes.
I would also prefer someone who doesn't smoke and knows the importance of a health. If I love someone I couldn't stand the thought of them hurting.
Still, though I've only talked about positive aspects, I'm not really an idealist. We could have arguments all the time (one of my talents as well), but if at the end of the day we care about each other's happiness that would keep us going. Also, a difference in hobbies would be ok, perhaps even beneficial - so long as we still have things in common.
What sort of relationship would you like at this point in your life.
I would like to have a committed relationship. I want it to be long term, loving, full of passion, and that. Though if I am truly in love with someone, I may accept less to make them happy, it's not really what i would like. I'd enjoy to be married one day, perhaps even have kids - especially if it's important to my partner. But to me the most important thing is that we stick together for a long time, preferably a lifetime. Papers are just papers.
Name some of your all-time favorite music / movies / TV / books.
Music: Thalia, Pink, Dido, Queen, Evanescence, Placebo, Eloquently Speaking who's sort of a friend of mine and unsigned yet, and my friend Sean's music
Movies: "To Sir, With Love"; "Secretary"; "Bridge to Terabithia"; "The Last Mimzy"; "Stardust"; "Titanic"
Books: "Torture the Artist" - Joey Goebel; "The Bell Jar" - Sylvia Plath; "The Dark Tower" - Nick Hornby; "P.S I love you" - Cecilia Ahem; most stuff by Paulo Coelho and Stephen King; "The Ice
What type of work do you do? Do you enjoy it?
I am a student and haven't had a real job so far, but I enjoy school. Of course I hate it when teachers are ignorant or that I have to take subjects I'm not interested in and pay for private lessons on what really matters, but school is a good place to meet people and, after all, I don't have that much trouble with it.
What do you enjoy doing for fun?
I write and sing, not just for fun but it relaxes me as well. I enjoy a good poem/book. My favorite pastime is spending time with a friend or family. I also like watching TV shows, movies, and some cartoons, or listening to music.
What do you hate doing?
I hate wasting time on things that don't interest me at all, arguing, writing bad poetry, and so on. But hey, what would life be without these???
Tell about where you grew up or where you are from.
I grew up here in Romania. There's not much to tell about it though.
Do you have pets? Tell about them.
I don't currently have pets, but I used to have two cats and some fish (I know...fatal combo)
What would you say is your best virtue?
I think my best virtue is my unique way of thinking.
What was the most daring / wild thing you have ever done?
I'm a very shy person, but when I do believe in something I go for it even if others don't agree or if I feel slightly embarrassed. I think the most daring thing I've done was telling this guy who was pretty much my teacher that I was in love with him. I was 14 then, had had crushes on teachers before but with this one it was different. He changed me a lot back then. And so I took my chances though I know most would think that was foolish.
What terrifies you?
Being left alone, death, losing the ones I love, failing, and others.
If you were on a deserted island, and you could choose 3 items to take, what would they be?
I'd take a boat, duh!!!
And my best friend if he wanted to come along.
And a DVD player with a good movie we haven't seen in it.
Your ultimate intimate dinner party would include which 3 guests (dead or alive)?
my best friend, my dad, and my dad's mother
How is your physical shape? What do you do to keep in shape?
I mostly like the way I look, but I could be in better shape. I do my best swimming, though I must admit riding home from the pool during winter is not _quite_ my idea of fun.
While looking at a person’s profile, following the picture, what are the first things you look for?
Since it's on a website, reasonably good grammar and spelling, and the traits I appreciate. However I'm not likely to look around much.
What else should we know about you?
I may not be outspoken about something. I don't trust my knowledge enough in a debate though I really, really should. But just because I say nothing don't think I agree. In fact, even when I say something nice, don't think I like you a lot. I use my silence well sometimes. I don't make fake compliments, but it may be that think I go out of my way to avoid saying, that actually matters. And if I make such an effort not to mention it, don't assume it's because you'd love to hear it.
