I live with three cats--Pretty Boy, Strawberry, and Fluffy. I love learning, and I enjoy teaching. I also love women, though I still have a lot to learn about them. I enjoy writing and the arts. I consider myself--somewhat of an intellectual, though it moves me to be in nature.

I'm interested in meeting a woman who is comfortable in her body, who loves learning, and is somewhat funny if not very funny. She's at peace with herself and out to discover what more the world has to offer her. She's a seeker who is committed to making a difference for herself and others, and, of course, she loves animals and honors and respects all life.

What sort of relationship would you like at this point in your life.
I'd like it to be one of mutual respect, where we can enjoy things together and grow in new ways by supporting and empowering one another, and at the same time, by respecting our separateness and and differences.

Name some of your all-time favorite music / movies / TV / books.
There are too many and too many different types of books, movies and television shows to name. I enjoyed Shakespeare in Love and I also like Boston Legal on television. I like artsy and historical movies as well as ones like The Matrix.

What type of work do you do? Do you enjoy it?
I'm an English instructor at a community college and also an academic advisor.

What do you enjoy doing for fun?
I enjoy walking in the park or the woods, swimming, reading, writing, petting my cats, and doing the unmentionable, which I haven't been doing much of lately. I'm intending that will change.

What do you hate doing?
Cleaning up all the papers and books in my space.

Tell about where you grew up or where you are from.
I grew up in New York City. I loved New York City, but I don't think I'd go back--at least not into the city. But who knows. I think I might like living on the west coast or in Colorado. However, Dallas works for me now, except it does get rather hot in the summers.

Do you have pets? Tell about them.
I have three cats--one female and two males. I love them all, but Strawberry is probably my favorite. He's all orange. Pretty Boy is all black. And Fluffy, who is the girl, is grey and white, and she's very fluffy.

What would you say is your best virtue?
My integrity. I keep my word, and if I can't, I let people know it. And then see what is in my way and get beyond what's stopping me.

What was the most daring / wild thing you have ever done?
I rode a bicycle down a steep hill to impress a girl. I was about 14 then. It's been pretty quiet ever since.

If you were on a deserted island, and you could choose 3 items to take, what would they be?
I would take my cats, food, and a wonderful woman who happens to be very passionate and has a number of great books to read with her. Well, hopefully, she has paper too and a pencil, so I/we can write poetry together.

Walt Whitman, Thoreau, Mahatma Gandhi.

How is your physical shape? What do you do to keep in shape?
I work out at the gym at least once a week if not twice.
